Didn’t see that one coming! =P

So let’s seeeeee…

How on earth can someone do a dissertation in less than two weeks? It’s like trying to cure cancer with a whistle and a breadstick!

Linguistics got boring (Berko-Gleason, ew) , and then got more interesting when we started playing with Furby’s =D

I haven’t heard anything back from Erasmus yet, which is starting to get a little worrying as accommodation needs to be sorted soonish…

After Valentine’s day and being with Matt for over three months, I decided to kick the kicking-in of chocolate, in. Ok so I’m not eating it day in, day out, but it’s a relief. I really thought I may have actually died if I kept off it for any longer.

…and no, this does not mean I’m back on the junk food. I’ve only indulged in chips from the Kebab van twice in 2008, and that was because I was heavily drunk on both counts!

My new MP3 player pisses over iPods with glee. Some may disagree, but I’m uberpleased with it. It makes sound sexual =P

Baby Basil (a.k.a, the chocolate duck, a.k.a, the love-child of myself and Matt) is currently staring at me, and actually making me quite nervous… especially seeing as it’s the world’s most inanimate duck =/

And I’m just blabbering crap now! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

(On a more serious note, Sam’s “5^th” birthday is this Friday, so I’m continuing with the “Can I bulk up ever so slightly in 4 days” challenge that I set myself so I don’t look too weedy in a vest… seems to be working oh-so-slightly =D )

• It’s 3 months today that Matt and I became official ^_^
• Amy, Laura and myself are off to Paris in the Easter hols =D
• Sam’s 5^th birthday is coming up and it’s going to be an AWESOME night (or bunch of nights!)
• I’m writing this blog to the remix of ‘Fascination’ which is a song that I heart / lessthanthree
• I’ve done my work for the rest of the week
• I’m gonna cook Fajita’s tonight which I’m hoping will be tasty!
• My bank accounts are back to normal after the MP3 player worry
• My new MP3 player is here and my GAWD is it sexy =P
• ICHC are going strong and there’s many new pics up each day
• I’ve made a huge list of things to be happy about, of which makes me happy!

Of course, not all is rosy. But they’re not big enough (yet) to start worrying about =]

Funny, AND it reminds me that St Patrick’s Day is coming, hence… DTBD! =D

Valentine’s day was actually surprisingly good! I got a few things which were either tasty or make me smell good, and I gave some stuff to Matt that actually made him really happy. Eeeep! I know it goes against how I usually feel about these kinda of things, but the past 11 weeks have been AWEEEESOME =D

Anyway, other things occurring in places other than cloud 9…

I cannot motivate myself to do any work today. I know that I need to but nothing is happening! It could’ve been last night’s antics that has thrown me (the insane 303 ring-of-fire, meeting Jesse for the first time, a Crunchie filled with people telling me to go and throw up… eesh), but that’s just a guess =P

The flat inspection is now on Tuesday: The morning directly after Carnage. I hope that the period between me going to bed on Monday eve and waking up on Tuesday morning does not involve the destruction of the lounge and kitchen.

And finally, I got a first in my last essay ^_^ and the sun worked in collaboration with my magnifying mirror to produce a hole in my duvet. Kinda glad I was here to stop it… otherwise I might be homeless right about now =/

Insanemuch… if it were a bit warmer I swear it would be summer time. I’m worried though, where have all the clouds gone?!

So I couldn’t sell my phone at CEx. Apparently they don’t have enough money for people to be able to sell things “until….erm…. er…. Saturday” and even then I’m not sure I wanna give it to some 25 year old with the longest, greasiest black hair I’ve ever seen in my life. Ahem…

Last night was the Daskalaki’s birthday. Went to Brown’s, felt very out of place do to the level of poshness, and it’s probs the most I’ve ever spent on a meal in my life… still an awesome night though. Cocktails in “The Green House,” WOO!

Many other things have occurred, but as Mary J Blige (or Bilge as I just typed) is currently belting out, “I’m fine” ^_^

Although I’d be much better if I didn’t have this bloody Corpus always creeping up behind meeeeee…

So now I feel a little happier. And I still can’t decide where to go for Erasmus. So, have a lolcat ^_^

So my gym-ness has kinda failed on me. Partially because I’ve had so much work to do! But I have been watching my intake more, so that’s cool =]

My room is back to normal, and it feels so much better. After speaking with Zee after the random-old-people-in-hats party, it’s true that you should never sleep where you work or vice-versa. Now I’m actually getting up in the mornings!

And I didn’t know I need to pack soooo much just to go back home for one night! Kinda looking forward to seeing the rents again but I’m fearing the worst for Thursday…. Tears ‘n’ all =[

And I have no time to find a lolcat for my mood. Désolé =/

A few changes/events have occurred recently to make me feel this way:

• My hair is now a bit more interesting… I finally did that colour-work I always wanted to do (and myself too, woop!)
• I contributed towards giving a terminally ill patient a chance to go on holiday with his family, and I got to spend time with Zee and some final-year students
• I rearranged my room once again, which is now more work-oriented and less ‘fire hazard’-ee
• I also cleaned my room, and it looks very inviting now =]

I just wish that I didn’t have to go home in a few days time… I’ll be missing out on some important lectures and it costs quite a bit to go back.

I’ll get to see the rents and Cari, and maybe Pat too, but not for an overall ‘happy’ reason…

The past few days have made me think about life more than ever. Especially how one minor event can make you incredibly happy or excited, and how something huge can bring you back to earth with a bang…

Apart from the usual drunkenness and work that I’m doing (work being secondary in the list, hehe =P ) I found out that I’m eligible to do the Erasmus placement scheme next year, so I’ll be off to France for my second year, as well as my third!!

I was on top of the world when this happened, and then I found out that my best friends’ dad had passed away a few days ago.

I went from being on cloud 9 to being back on earth with my jaw on the floor.

It sounds so cliché to say that he was a good man, but he really was. There were times that the family would much rather forget, but he had his second chance, and he was making his life, and the lives of others, so much better.

Of course, I cannot compare to the grief that my friend and her family must be going through, and we all know that time, along with life, moves on.

Other things have happened, like a whole month without junk food, but they all seem so weak in comparison with this.

I hope that I can go to his funeral, even if it means missing some lectures.

RIP Mr. M… you shall be missed

I don’t know if heaven exists, or what exactly the afterlife holds if there is one. Maybe a serene landscape awaits us…

Yeah, still sniffing.

No-where near as bad as before though, probably because I haven’t been drinking all weekend or today! I feel so non-alcoholic, which at the same time makes me feel like a failed student =P

The weekend was work-filled and nothing much happened. The new 802 of Phoenix is not going to happen after all as Dom dropped out, but I’m sure there’ll be interesting replacements as time goes on…

I am now officially on top of my work too! Even the corpus doesn’t seem like so much of a challenge anymore… more a minor inconvenience… and apparently I sound Japanese in Japanese, always a good thing, right?!

Haircut on Thursday. I’m thinking a Liz-style-thing (as in old stylist, not Goldie =P) but I’m hoping it doesn’t cost me the earth.

And just to make my evening more interesting, a certain two people have split which has caused shock. I’m divulging no names as anyone could read this, and a word as simple as “Bob” can serve to me as a helpful reminder.

(I do need to do a lot more exercise though… the knee and illness are no-longer valid excuses!)

And no, it’s not man-flu, I think it’s ‘Re-freshers flu’ =P

My studies are once again insane. I’m trying to keep on top of things and so far, all seems to be going well. However…

• I’ve given up my place at Phoenix Court… 802 will now be filled with Sam, Alex, Nat and Dom. That should be insane xD
• The house idea in Park Street has fallen through, so I’m effectively back to square 1 again
• I’m considering Cherry court, but it’s like the same cost as the SV, so I wouldn’t exactly be saving much
• All of the above points have lead me to once again consider the idea of doing Erasmus placement for a year with my Flingers… but then that raises a whole other bunch of questions

So life, once again, is confusing.

Plus I haven’t been to the gym in ages and I really should, but being ill doesn’t really help my case.

…Two months this evening.
